Therapeutic Specialties:
Parenting, boundary and communication issues, relational conflict, pre-marital counseling, preparation for parenthood, and Biblical-based counseling.
Therapeutic Approach:
Everyone has a story. Stories have characters, ups and downs, twists and turns. They have meaning and significance. All good stories also have conflict. Conflict is what drives character development. We enjoy it in our favorite books and movies, but in our own lives, conflict is uncomfortable. I find the uncomfortable places are often the ones filled with the most purpose and possibilities.
My approach is to listen to and engage a client’s story in a way that instills hope, encourages curiosity and insight, and facilitates growth. I believe in meeting people where they are, and coming alongside them as they explore the impact of their stories on themselves and others.
My proudest accomplishments as therapist:
One of the best parts of being a therapist is having the privilege of hearing people’s stories, of knowing where they came from and where they want to go. My favorite moments are the ones in which I know a client is making a choice with both purpose and vulnerability. It’s easy to celebrate with someone when you know the meaning behind a choice, the work that it took to get there, and the freedom felt in making it.
What inspired me to become a therapist:
Curiosity and love of people.
