Therapeutic Specialties:
I have particular interests in anxiety, depression, ADHD, the challenges of emerging adulthood, stage-of-life/role transitions, and working with individuals from diverse backgrounds/people of color. I am accepting patients for medication management, individual psychotherapy, and combination treatment (medications + talk therapy).
Therapeutic Approach:
As a person from a diverse background with advanced training in child and adolescent psychiatry, I utilize a culturally-sensitive, developmentally-informed, and flexible treatment approach to help each person maximize their strengths to achieve fulfillment in work, relationships, academics, and personal identity and growth. I enjoy working collaboratively with other therapists, schools, and outside agencies when necessary.
After an initial consultation, I discuss my recommendations for a personalized treatment plan, which may include psychotherapy (talk therapy) with or without medications, medications alone, or referral to more specialized providers. My psychotherapy treatment approaches are informed by acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and supportive psychoanalytically-informed psychotherapy. Treatment of depression, anxiety, and addiction, life-work harmony, as well as relationship issues such as communication, conflict resolution, and infidelity.
