Therapeutic Approach:

I use a systems approach that is heavily influenced by Postmodern theory focusing on deconstructing common beliefs and examining their value in an individual’s life.  I incorporate EMDR and adaptive information processing theory when the individual’s common beliefs are maladaptive due to trauma and the influence of distressing events.

My proudest accomplishments as therapist:

When people come in paralyzed by their body’s responses to small and large traumas to the point that they may not have noticed the sun shine in months, haven’t had a good night’s sleep in maybe years, and have disengaged from life because their brain is so overwhelmed with distress, and then they experience successful EMDR sessions, and their quality of life is restored.

What inspired me to become a therapist...

My parents were in ministry and were always helping people.  Through their work and example, I was exposed to a lot of hurting people, and I developed a desire to make a difference.

What I know now for sure

We are all unique, loved, and have the potential for healing.
