Everyone deserves to be heard. . .to be understood. . .
to not live in fear
The staff of Manhattan Marriage and Family Therapy (MMFT) are heartbroken over the tragic deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and countless others due to senseless killings and violence involving systemic racism and social injustices. We, along with people across the nation, are angry and fear what the future holds for our children.
Join us in taking a stand against social injustices and towards solidarity.
Our role as family therapists reminds us to look at the larger system we commune in. We vow to support the Black members of our community by bringing awareness to the systemic issues of injustice, educating people who are less aware of how they encourage covert and overt racism and discrimination, and offer resources for our clinicians and the greater community. We can all hold ourselves accountable for how we impact one another in positive and negative ways.
As a family therapy group practice, we vow to support the Black community by offering therapy and healing conversations about these systemic issue. We offer a safe space for your experience to be heard related to racism, discrimination and other social injustices. We, as family therapists and fellow human beings, will continue to look within, learn and grow.
We see you. We hear you. We stand with you.
