ICD 10 Codes Transition Made Easy

As of October 1, 2015 the ICD 10 codes will replace the ICD 9 codes.

The International Classification of Disease (ICD) 10 will be the preferred method for recording diagnostic codes starting October 1, 2015.  Most insurance companies will now require the ICD-10 codes in order to get reimbursed.  Not to worry, the transition is not painful!

Start by using the DSM-5 instead of the DSM IV-TR.  The DSM-5 lists the ICD-10 codes with an F followed by a number at the left of each diagnosis.
